In class we have to pick something that we can paint as a night scene= nocturne.
I choose the interior of the tandoor maker’s shop. It is not at night per se, but it is the heavily shadowed interior, and I made a few changes- such as removing the rope and the guys reading the newspaper.
Photo taken a few year’s back by my sister-in-law from a visit to the section of old Lahore, Pakistan.
A tandoor is a large, clay oven. Makes delicious bread, chicken, fish…well everything tastes better coming out of a tandoor.
It is not fair…where are the advertisements for PCO(Public Call Office) & Yamaha Motorcycle…😁

Artistic license. Feeling homesick, are we?

I’ve never actually seen one of these clay ovens. How delightfully evocative your painting is.
